1 Kings 19:5-18 ERV
Then Elijah lay down under the bush and went to sleep. An angel came to him and touched him. The angel said, “Get up and eat!” Elijah looked around, and by his head there was a cake that had been baked over coals and a jar of water. He ate and drank and then went back to sleep. Later the LORD’s angel came to him again, touched him, and said, “Get up and eat! If you don’t, you will not be strong enough to make the long trip.” So Elijah got up. He ate and drank and felt strong. Then Elijah walked for 40 days and nights to Mount Horeb, the mountain of God.
Many times, we have assignments but not the strength to complete the assignment. Here we see Elijah needed to rest, eat and drink and then he had to repeat it. In this case the angelic assistance was so real that the angel took care of him by getting him cake, drink and waking him up to eat. Don’t discount angelic assistance in your life. We can even have angels bring us food and drink to sustain us for the assignments. After this Elijah was able to run to the mountain of God and did not eat again for 40 days and 40 nights. When God provides it lasts, sustains and restores us for a great length of time. So rest, eat and drink and repeat. I pray for angelic assistance of restoration and strength for all assignments in Jesus name. Amen.
